WeERM

Built for California, not adapted to it

The California rules are in the software, not in your head.

Daily overtime, double-time, the seventh consecutive day, meal and rest break records, and SB 616 sick leave accrual — calculated as the week happens, not reconstructed at the end of it.

Cancel any time during the trial and you are charged nothing.

Daily OT
Over 8 hours in a day is overtime here, not just over 40 in a week. WeERM applies the California rule, not the federal one.
SB 616
Sick leave accrues to the current California minimum automatically, with the balance visible to the employee.
On record
Every punch, break, edit and approval is written to an audit log with who did it and when.

What you get

Overtime the way California counts it

Over 8 in a day and over 40 in a week both trigger overtime; over 12 in a day triggers double-time; the seventh consecutive workday has its own rule. The payroll summary shows each bucket separately so you can check the math.

Meal and rest breaks as evidence

Breaks are recorded as their own start and end times, not as a deduction. If a break is short or missing, it is visible on the timesheet — which is what a wage claim actually turns on.

Sick leave that keeps itself

Accrual runs automatically and the employee sees their own balance in the app, so the question stops arriving by text message. Part-time exclusions and the daily cap are handled.

Required paperwork, signed in the app

I-9, W-4, DE 4 and the California notices are filled and e-signed during onboarding, then stored against the employee. No printing, no scanning.

One number, no surprises

$3 per employee per month on Lite, $5 on Standard. Billed for a minimum of 4 employees, so a 4-person shop starts at $12/month.

No per-location fee, no setup fee, no annual contract. See the full plan comparison.

Before you ask

Is this legal advice?
No. WeERM applies the rules as configured and shows its work, and every payroll screen carries a disclaimer saying the summary must be reviewed by you or your payroll provider before payment. For a specific dispute, talk to an employment lawyer.
What if the minimum wage or accrual rate changes?
The state minimum is a floor in the software and your company minimum sits on top of it — you can raise it, never set it below the statutory figure. When the state number moves we update the floor.
We only operate in California. Will that stay true?
Today WeERM covers California rules. Other states are on the roadmap and are not claimed to work yet — we would rather tell you that than have you find out at year end.
Can I see the rules you apply before I sign up?
Yes. There are forty plain-English answers, each with its source, at weerm.com/factcheck — written from the same rules the software applies.
